With meditation, I become more aware of my inner state and I can often identify the signs of anxiety or other destructive emotions rising in me before they actually strike. This gives me enough buffer to either explore their true nature, expose the baseless fear that fuel them or take steps to calm myself them. Give meditation a try; you just need 15 or 20 minutes a day.
