If you’ve ever gazed at a full moon on a clear, cloudless night, you must have felt the same awe and amazement experienced by many around the globe. Indeed, the beauty and serenity of the full moon have never fail to bestow a deep sense of peace and calm to those who care to stop and admire. The full moon has in fact inspired many traditions and religions throughout the centuries, and is worshiped for its motherly, firm and unconditional gentle powers.

Here is a guided relaxation exercise called The Healing Moon where we borrow the powers of the full moon to help calm our stress, anxieties and fears, and attain a lasting sense of tranquility. It is a simple technique that can be applied anywhere once you’ve learned it.   • What You Need:

    A humble mind.

    A quiet place to practice.

  • Time Required:

    About 6 minutes.

  • How to Do It:

  1. Sit comfortably with your spine straight, either on a chair or on the floor in a position of your choice.

  2. Take three deep breaths slowly. With each exhale, release any tension that you may be holding in your body, and say softly: “I feel safe and relaxed now.

  3. Now invite the full moon to come to you. Imagine a clear full moon appearing just above your head. The moon is shining brightly and cheerfully, sending out gentle lustrous rays in every direction.

    Bask in the loving embrace of the full moon. Visualize the brilliant moonlight showering all over you and within you. Open up all the pores in your skin to receive the moon’s positive energies. Feel every cell in your body rejoicing and rejuvenating in the healing light.

  4. When you can visualize the shining moon clearly inside you, direct the bright moonlight to the dark corners of your mind. Let the dazzling white light penetrate all darkness. Feel your stress, anxieties, worries or fears dissolving instantly, leaving a deep sense of peace, harmony and calm. Take as long as you like to rest in this tranquil state.

  5. When you’re ready to end this exercise, give thanks to the moon for its generosity. Then allow the visualization to fade away, and let the peaceful feeling infuse your activities for the rest of the day.

    Hi, first off let me tell you that you have an excellent website. But the moon relaxation video was a little short. The song and the moon did relax me in a way that made me happy. Do you were can i find that lovely melody?
