The Ecotones machine sounds crystal clear, isn’t annoying because the “sound stories” are long enough that you don’t hear a loop or notice that the same little nuance is repeating, and it is still going strong with no decrease in quality, even though it is on for hours every day.   The product is well constructed and looks good on the side table. There are quite a few sounds to choose from that play half hour tracks so you don’t notice the same theme over and over. I thought my best selection would the steady “fan” like white noise sound but after experimenting, have settled on the ocean waves, rain, and waterfall themes.   I have issues with falling asleep in total silence – for years I just left the TV on with a movie or TV series DVDs, but that would keep me up and drove my husband up the wall.
