Comment Etiquette

This website contains comments contributed by readers. You are welcome to browse through them or give your views on articles where comments are invited. But before using or submitting any comments, here are some important things you should know:

  • Comments are moderated. All comments submitted will be moderated by the site owner and/or volunteers before publishing. Comments that do not meet our comment guidelines will be deleted without notice. We may also delete published comments if they are later found to be inappropriate due to changes in our guidelines.
  • Comments do not replace professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Moderation of comments does not in any way imply that published comments are complete or accurate. No comments you find on this site should be construed as legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. Use the comments at your own risk.
  • Do not post sensitive information. Comments that have been published can be read and used by anyone in the world. It’s not possible for you to delete your own comments once they are published. So please do not post any sensitive information about yourself or others such as contact number and postal address in your comments.
  • Spams and inappropriate comments will be deleted. Spams, commercials, advertising, blatantly self-promotional messages and comments deemed to be inappropriate by the site owner and/or moderators will be removed without notice and explanation.
  • Do not mislead. Only post information which are true and correct to the best of your knowledge. Substantiate any claims with references and links where possible and relevant, especially for health and medical issues. If you’re unsure, check with reputable sources and make references to them in your comments.
  • Respect others. Treat others the way you would like them to treat you. Ask yourself “How would I react if this comment is addressed to me?” before hitting the submit button. If you don’t feel good about it, then it’s best not to respond first. Come back when you are more clear-headed to re-compose your message.
  • Write to the point. Please do not go off-topic. If something unrelated seems relevant to you, explain the relationship clearly so that everyone can see your point.

Having second thoughts? You shouldn’t. These guidelines are essentially in place to stop unethical marketers, irresponsible brats and people who think they can blame anyone and everyone for their problems. I’m sure you’re not one of them, right? ;)
