Thanks! I'm having a girls night tomorrow and the theme is Alzheimer’s month. I asked them to bring a food that will help combat the disease so now I have some great ideas!

Thanks for sharing your experience, Barrie. Indeed, with proper diet and exercises, it's possible to prevent or delay many common degenerative diseases such as dementia. It's great to know of another site that promotes foods as one of the disease preventive measures. Keep it up!

Like your post it is very much along the lines of what I believe in when it comes to our diet and bodies. My Father suffers from dementia so I have first hand experience of the effects of it and I do believe diet plays a part. We tend to fill ourselves with highly processed foods and then wonder why our body reacts the way it does! Disease, weight gain/loss are amongst the many things diet can affect. We talk more about this at food myths busted come and visit us for more information on the relationship between food and diseases

Welcome Annie! I'm glad to have you here. About your parrots' brain food diet, I must say that they are very lucky to have you as their companion! Perhaps you can prepare a separate portion, albeit a bigger one with a little more seasoning, for yourself next time? :)
